Quaker Games Returns, Nurturing Community Through Competition

Established several years ago, the Quaker Games have evolved — similar to English Class Dodgeball — into a beloved ritual for students across all grade levels, marking a period of excitement and engagement from the middle of February until the academic year’s end. 
On March 2, the Sidwell Friends Girls Varsity Basketball Team beat St. Johns College High School 72-44 in the DCSAA Championship.

On Feb. 22, The 4 Nations Face-Off, an international hockey tournament featuring teams from Canada, Sweden, Finland and the United States, had one of its biggest games. 
May recovered and is returning to the Dodgers.

Dustin May Returns to the MLB

On Feb. 24, May made his official return to the Dodgers and pitched one scoreless inning in a spring training game. 
The World Anti Doping Agency banned Sinner from playing after he tested positive twice.

On the morning of Feb. 15, following back and forth between his legal team and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), it was announced that Jannik Sinner would be hit with a three-month ban from competitive tennis.

Three Sidwell Alumni Play for UCLA against Maryland

On Jan. 26, Sidwell alumni and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) basketball players Kiki Rice ’22, Kendall Dudley ’24 and Zania Socka-Nguemen ’24 returned to the greater Washington area to play University of Maryland (UMD) Terps at College Park.
Despite facing upsets throughout the season, both Notre Dame and Ohio State were able to make it to the College Football Championship.
