Pablo, Yogitopi’s manager, is known for his welcoming energy and TikTok cameos.
Yogitopi, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop located in Bethesda’s thriving downtown scene, is a cherished spot for teenagers and families. Yogitopi offers classic and organic frozen yogurt with a wide assortment of toppings, including fresh fruit, mochi and candy. Yogitopi delights customers with its vibrant and whimsical decorations and welcoming atmosphere, created by the friendly and attentive staff. Chrichi T. from Washington D.C. declared on Yelp: “I’m a frozen yogurt fanatic and this is the most delicious frozen yogurt in the DMV.”
Yogitopi’s proximity to Bethesda Row, a popular, upscale outdoor mall featuring trendy retail shops, restaurants and a movie theater, makes it a perfect stop while shopping in the lively core of Bethesda. Junior Lexi Orr, one of many teens who enjoys going to Yogitopi with her friends, stated, “I feel like it’s a fun spot for everyone to hang out because Bethesda is such a central location for me and a lot of my friends, so it’s easy for us to go into Bethesda quickly and get froyo.”
Yogitopi offers a wide selection of frozen yogurt flavors to cater to various preferences. From classic options like triple chocolate and cookies and cream to refreshing sorbets like mango and mixed berry, there’s something for everyone. Additionally, Yogitopi’s many toppings allow customers to personalize their dessert to their liking and create their own desired treat. Yogitopi tries to rotate one or two flavors every week, while keeping the best-loved flavors and toppings. Yogitopi’s manager, Pablo, stated that the best-selling flavor is the original, and the most popular toppings are chocolate chips, oreos and mochi.
Yogitopi also offers vegan froyo options, including sorbet, and customers can sample flavors before purchasing them. “They have a lot of options, but you don’t have to make a decision right away. Ask for samples and then make your pick,” said Krishna P, who is a member of the exclusive Yelp Elite Squad containing Yelp’s most influential and active users. “The staff was very nice and encouraged me to try a couple of samples. I really liked their mango, taro and cookies and cream. Also, you can mix and match.”
Many customers have commended Yogitopi on Yelp and shared their experiences, such as Audrena M. from Vienna, VA, who rated Yogitopi five stars on Yelp and wrote, “Obsessed with this place. Went 5 times last week.” Yogitopi has an average overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp.
Yogitopi prices items like smoothies, fruit salads and yogurt-based products based on weight and toppings, costing $0.69 per ounce. However, according to Wheree, a global discovery platform, some customers consider the pricing too high and feel that pricing could be more aligned with portion sizes, particularly for smaller servings.
Previously known as Yogiberry for ten years, YogiTopi was introduced in 2019 with a new owner and a rebrand. Pablo, the well-known and beloved manager of YogiTopi, had worked for Yogiberry for several years before continuing to work at YogiTopi for the past five years. Many customers have noted Pablo’s kind and lighthearted presence, which has kept Yogitopi fresh and thriving.
“I really enjoy going to YogiTopi because the food is amazing and Pablo makes the space such a community,” said junior Kenzie Goldsteen. “My whole entire family knows him, all of my friends know him and I really like going there not just for the food but because of the community he fosters and the energy he brings to YogiTopi.”
Pablo noted that a few years ago, customers began creating videos on TikTok at Yogitopi, which significantly expanded Yogitopi’s publicity and attracted new customers. Soon after, Yogitopi started a TikTok account, which has grown rapidly in the past few years and features many videos of Pablo and teenage customers. Pablo has played a significant role in Yogitopi’s success, and his favorite aspect of Yogitopi is the friendly community and the relationships he and the staff have built with their customers. “It makes our day when we see smiling customers all the time,” Pablo said.
Pablo envisions a bright future for Yogitopi and hopes to expand the store. “Lately I have been talking to the owner and my main goal is to partner with the owner and try to open new locations,” he said. “I would love to expand YogiTopi more in the Maryland area and the DMV, and hopefully around the country.”
Located at 4924 Elm St in Bethesda, Maryland, Yogitopi is a must-visit destination, offering a diverse range of flavors and toppings, customizable options and a unique sense of community.
